“When you start doing what you really love to do, you’ll never work another day in your life.”
– Brian Tracy

I love doing accounting. I enjoy the ebb and flow of receivables and payables. I like the feeling of a job accomplished, when all of the month-end reports are done. I like doing payroll and keeping track of taxes paid and owed. I like working with outside accountants to close the year. There is, obviously, something very wrong with me.

My father is an accountant. When I was 14, he gave me a job in his office and I’ve been doing this work ever since. I took accounting in high school and then took courses at Bucks County Community College. I have worked for manufacturing companies, publishing companies, and there was that foray into retail. I am currently self-employed and work for DEETER and a Judaic art company in Elkins Park. I also have a number of small businesses for which I do the accounting and payroll. I’ve been doing tax returns with my dad for the past four years and my stepmother is really hoping that I take over more of his business in the next few years.

I’ve been married for more than 21 years, not bad for a 42-year-old. I have one son, who is 17 and just learned to drive. My best friend and I have known each other since we were 12. I love to read and go camping. I enjoy working with the Deeters and that makes work not a job, but an interesting, challenging part of my day.
